We've never hired a wedding photographer before, what can we expect?

Well, you can expect a great deal from Justice of the Peace Wedding Photography.
We provide the service, professionalism and talent only an experienced wedding photographer can give you.

Before your wedding: First, we work with you to determine the coverage or package that's just right for you. Then we go over all the details and I list everything in a standard contract which you will inspect before you make your deposit.
Then 1 month prior to the wedding I touch base with you, the JP/Priest/Minister/Pastor, reception facility, Etc. to coordinate our efforts. I have had the pleasure of working with many fine wedding professionals, wedding facilities, DJ's, and Videographers who give it their best every time. Dedicated professionals working in unison helps insure a perfect wedding!

At the wedding: I'll arrive 1/2 hour early to set up, then I shoot the ceremony and all your requests, the formals, the wedding party, parents, relatives, friends and anyone else you would like. I then shoot the festivities as they unfold, the first dance, the toast, cutting of the cake, throwing the bouquet and all the rest of the fun stuff!

After the wedding: I will go through all the photographs and do touch-ups as needed then make and label your DVD.
The high resolution DVD will be shipped to you within 2 weeks of your wedding.
If you ordered albums with your coverage, I prepare and ship them to you, (usually within 4 weeks after you make your selections).

Of course this is a brief summary and as you can see, there are many duties and responsibilities that must be handled properly before, during and after your wedding. Each wedding is different and each wedding is special.

We don't need a wedding album, can we just hire you by the hour?

Sure! Often times brides like to scrapbook or make their own albums and simply need the photographs on a high resolution DVD they can print from, so we would be happy to provide coverage only with photos on DVD. Check our Coverage Only package on the Prices page.

What Style of photography do you do?

I shoot in all styles; photojournalistic, classic, contemporary, traditional, non-traditional (casual), and candid.
A good wedding photographer has to be skilled in all styles of photography in order to satisfy the requests of the client and to capture the occasion successfully. If you have a particular style in mind please let us know.
Often, a skilled choice of style at the right moment is best.

Can we print our own photos off of the DVD?

Yes. The DVD you receive is like having the original. The DVD contains all the images directly from the camera. You can download photos from the DVD and do whatever you like with them: print photos or make duplicate DVD's for your friends and family, because you will own the copyright!

Can we get a CD instead of a DVD?

Yes, If you would prefer a CD of all your downloadable photographs, just let us know. We shoot in high resolution for the best quality and 1 DVD has the capacity to hold all the photos. If you prefer your photos on a CD we will have to put them on 2 CD's because of the limited space of a CD. Either way, you can download the photos to your computer, print your own photos, make copies and do whatever you like with them!

You do great work and your prices are so affordable, how do you do it?

Volume! Through excellent word-of-mouth and our advertising we photograph many beautiful weddings every month.

Do you "Sub out" the weddings or send an assistant to photograph the weddings?

No, I cover all the weddings myself. I often use an assistant as a 2nd shooter or to carry/set up equipment.

Are there any "hidden fees"?

No, we will discuss everything first, then I itemize every detail in the contract.

What type of equipment do you use?

We use high resolution professional digital cameras and use studio portraiture lighting for the indoor photographs.
The DVD you will receive is high resolution and you can print your own sharp, beautiful photographs from it.

Can we ask you to take portraits of our friends and family?

Yes! We would be happy to photograph anyone or any group of your guests.
We automatically shoot the ceremony and all the usual formals and portraits first, then we are available to shoot the festivities as they happen and do all your requests.

How many photographs do you shoot?

Unlimited!
Rest assured I will shoot as many photographs as it takes to capture the day properly and completely. I don't watch the frame counter or the clock and if I shoot a little more or stay a little longer on my own time to finish up the vital shots I will.
My only concern is to please you with the results. A happy customer is the best advertisement!

Do you arrange the poses?

Yes, we are skilled in portraiture and pose the bride and groom, wedding party and guests in such a way as to bring out their best features.
Of course, if you prefer semi-formal or some great relaxed classic shots let us know, we can do it all. We have over 10 years of experience and treat your loved ones with patience and good humor!

We are planning to have our wedding at our home, do you do that?

Yes, one of the great advantages of a Justice of the Peace wedding is that you can have it anywhere, at a park,
at home, at a function hall, at a lighthouse, on a mountaintop or at the ocean at sunrise....we've done all types!

Do you photograph wedding vow renewals?

Yes! We will photograph your vow renewals at any location you like in MA NH ME VT RI or CT.
Often I'm called upon to do some artistic shots months or even years after a ceremony.
Sometimes I'm asked to "rescue" a wedding job someone else did.
I do know of several locations that are perfect for taking some great photographs, or choose your own favorite spot!
These "on location" photo sessions are fun and take only an hour or so.

Could you tell us a little about yourself and the company?

Sure! My name is Rick Gaudet and I'm the owner/photographer and I also sweep out the place! I've been a professional photographer all my life and I've been photographing weddings for more than 10 years.

Education: I've studied photography at Northern Essex, The College of Marin in Kentfield, California and at the New York Institute of Photography.

Experience: I've had the pleasure of photographing weddings in California, New York and all over New England. I'm  on staff as a wedding photographer for Magic Mike Entertainment, the house photographer for the Casa Lucia function hall, a volunteer photographer for the M.S.P.C.A. and I worked for Glamour Shots as a portrait photographer. I've photographed many weddings over the years in a wide variety of conditions and locations and every one of them has been special.

Do you offer discounts or price breaks?

As you can see, our prices are very reasonable!
We do offer discounts for men & women in our armed services.
We also offer weekday discounts if you are planning on getting married during the week.
If the wedding is simple or if the wedding & reception are at the same place, we could offer you a discount. 
In the event we get a cancellation, we would offer you a discount to fill the vacancy, so last minute bookings are ok.

Does checking your availability hold our date?

No, checking our availability simply lets you know if the date is available or if it has been booked already.
A small deposit will book your wedding date.

What is your policy on reservations/deposits?

We do require a small deposit to book your wedding and the balance is due on the day of the wedding.
The monthly special must be paid in full when you book, all other packages require a small deposit.
Weddings are booked on a "first come-first served" basis and we book 7 days a week.

Ok! We want to book our wedding date, what is our next step?

1. Pick the package you would like or make up your own custom package.

2. Contact us to see if your wedding date is available.

3. If it is available we'll go over the details, I'll list everything in a contract and E mail it to you for your inspection.

4. After you check the contract, you can then make your deposit, and we will reserve your date immediately.
